Welcome to Ouseburn Playgroup Pre-School
Ouseburn Playgroup was established in 1966 by a group of mums wanting to provide their children with a caring, stimulating and safe environment where they could develop at their own pace through play and having fun. This has remained the ethos of Ouseburn Playgroup and is something we take pride in. We are an independent not for profit organisation and everything we do is dedicated to providing the best care possible for our children.
During term-time, sessions run Monday to Friday from 9am until 3pm. Morning, afternoon or full-day sessions are available with the additional option of lunch club. If you would like to experience one of our sessions with your child on a non-obligatory basis, we do offer a free taster session.
All our sessions are specially tailored to meet the Foundation Stage Early Learning Goals curriculum through structured and free play activities and we have a high ratio of qualified care staff to children. Sessions are delivered in spacious halls and we also boast a fantastic outdoor play area for our children. We provided funded and unfunded sessions and childcare vouchers are accepted. Sessions are generally available from just £10.50. We have ample parking available and we also offer free Aldwark Bridge tickets.
Following feedback from parents about our opening hours and the need for wrap around care, we are delighted to announce that October half term we have joined with Great Ouseburn School to offer parents the opportunity to access before and after playgroup care at their thriving after school club, the DEN.
In conjunction with the school's brand new Early Years facilities the DEN will provide a safe and fun environment for our children to play outside our usual opening hours, from 8am to 6pm. Transport will be provided to and from the playgroup, and our key playgroup worker Nikki will be leading the Den this year, offering fantastic continuity of care.
This provision will be available to children over the age of 3, and who are toilet trained.
Ouseburn Playgroup is a registered charity run by a voluntary committee of parents. Wherever possible, we provide opportunities for families to become directly involved in playgroup and their child's progress.
